About The National Dossier

The National Dossier is a living database of real, verified active missing-person cases. Every case on the front page has a verified person name and is either a seeded headline case or corroborated by multiple reports.

The site is victim-first: cases are about the missing person, and content is removed at a family’s request (see Corrections & Removals).

Cases are built from official sources — NCMEC, FBI, and agency posters and records — plus public news reports. Case photos come from official posters and public records, checked against the source name and caption.

The front page covers active missing persons only. Resolved records live in the Archives.

How this site works

The Scout agent continuously ingests missing-person reports from public news feeds; the Analyst files them into cases and builds timelines; the Pattern agent flags possible links for human review. Case files are auto-generated and marked for verification.

Privacy Policy

You can browse and search this site without creating an account. The site has no accounts, no comments, and no discussion threads.

What the site offers: case pages, search, and a track-this-case review flow. Searching a name checks the case database; if a matching public record is found that is not filed yet, it opens a case for review.

Contact is by email only: contact@thenationaldossier.com.

We do not sell personal data. The site is served through Cloudflare.

Case photos are public posters and records, not private images.

Corrections & Removals

If you are family of a missing person, or the subject of a case file, and something on this site is wrong — or you want a case removed — email contact@thenationaldossier.com.

Please include the person’s name, the case ID if you have it, and what needs correcting or why removal is requested.

Every request gets a prompt review. Corrections are fixed promptly, and family removal requests are honored. If a case’s status has changed — for example, the person has been found — let us know and we will update the record.

If you have an urgent tip about a missing person, do not wait for an email reply: contact the investigating agency on the case file, or call 911 in an emergency.
